Hi. After years of kids and budget living, we want a spa-like master bathroom in our Seattle home: heated floors, a big shower, soaking tub. The current bathroom is from the 90s with a builder-grade tub. We'd like this to be the one room in the house that feels like a retreat. Anyone built a luxury bath?

Hi. We did our master bath a couple of years ago. Worked with New Day Construction on Seattle Bathroom Remodeling. We got heated floors, which on winter mornings in Seattle are pure joy, a large walk-in shower and a Kohler soaking tub. They helped balance luxury with practicality, like picking tiles that are easy to clean. It's now my favorite room in the house. Honestly, heated floors add to the budget, but I'd cut something else before cutting those. Plan the lighting carefully too, dimmers make it feel like a spa at night.
