Formula Ford 2000 Today

The Historic Formula Ford 2000 Association was formed in 2006 in order to establish a series of races where early FF2000 cars (built between 1975 and 1981) could compete together. After two pilot races with the Historic Sports Car Club in 2007 the series quickly gained momentum and in 2011 was awarded full Championship status by the MSA. Today the championship comprises around 14 rounds at meetings organised by the HSCC at all the top circuits in the UK.

The cars are evenly matched which ensures close and competitive racing but great attention is paid to maintaining high-quality driving standards. Historic FF2000 has gained the reputation of being one of the most friendly racing series in the UK and we have a complimentary party in the paddock at every meeting for all our drivers and their supporters.

Historic FF2000 cars are straightforward and simple to maintain and most drivers look after their own cars although there are a number of professional companies who are able to undertake the work if the time and facilities are not available. In 2008 we introduced an invitation class for air-cooled Formula Supervee cars which are similar in performance and appearance to FF2000.
